while looking at the french forum, i saw a discussion on a fake stamp being sold with another also being discussed. i then asked admin 141 if the mechanism was in place to report such an item. i thought the 'REPORT THIS ITEM' was such a mechanism. however, after review of this feature, there is no place or listing for such items. many months ago, a long and arduous discussion was held about this very subject on what to call or categorize fakes, cinderellas, and such. however, the mechanism to report such items is sorely lacking or a way to insure the proper protection to the buyers that these items are correctly listed. if a customer wishes to buy a fake stamp, that is certainly his perogative. but the buyer and the seller should be honest and the stamp properly identified. this has been the objective of the APS for many years and as a member of that organization, i agree. many modern forgeries are coming onto the market which are extremely difficult to distinguish from the originals. and this leads to many of our philatelic friends being duped and dangerous stamps entering the philatelic field unchecked or not expertised. i would hope seb and the team can correct this problem in the philatelic and other auction venues.

for some reason, this is what i see on my screen when i display the 'report this item'. there must be a glitch in your system. but if i copy and print it out, it prints the entire message. something is amiss here.

i thought something was wrong. now i know. not my fault. but your administrator should have known to advise the buyer and seller in this case about this feature. and the other participants of the forum. after all, why did we go through all this months ago to create this feature. to me, there is still no real protection if it is not utilized. or the delcampe censors do not detect such items. i can guarantee you when i receive sales circuits from the APS, if there is a fake stamp in the books, it is pulled by the examiners and not placed on sale unless it is marked such. this should be the same goal of delcampe. 'nuff said.
