Greetings, all, from wild wonderful West Virginia, USA. I discovered Delcampe accidentally, in my search for collectibles enlightenment. My wife and I purchased the property of a chronic hoarder a couple of years ago, and in my search through the debris of this man's life, I discovered an amazing set of german pilsener glasses, which I learned were collected by the party in question while on tour with the American military in Germany in 1950-51. They were all, in actual fact, wrapped in 1951 german newspaper, and were packed and shipped to the states professionally. Our collector was 18 at the time, and has been collecting ever since
These glasses have remained wrapped in boxes since 1951, and were uncovered, by me, in 2007. There are some 116 of them, representing approximately 100 different breweries, and many are hand painted. As we are not collectors, I am trying to figure out what to do with them, and I suppose that begins with a valuation? This is quite likely a one of a kind collection. Where does one pursue more information?
There is also a collection of steins, undoubtedly the same era, numbering 25 to 30, and glass mugs, I think 10 or 12.
Any ideas out there in Delcampeland?

Hi Pistol,

Here are two German and one Belgian private collector sites about German beer glasses.
As a lot of Germans have some knowledge of English (and the Belgian certainly has), you might want to try and contact one of these guys through their website to found out more about the value.
