Der alte Kap-Henryleuchtturm, der noch steht, ist auf einer militärischen Installation (ft. Geschichte - Küstenwache). Er ist zur Öffentlichkeit zugänglich, während bestimmter Zeiten des Jahres (Frühling, Sommer und Fall) hereinzukommen und zu klettern. Es ist möglich, daß seit den Fällen von letztem September 11, Sachen hinsichtlich des Erhaltens auf der Unterseite geändert haben konnten. Es ist ein kurzer Antrieb vom Stadtzentrum zur Installation, zum für Sie herauszufinden. Es gibt auch einen anderen Leuchtturm in der Nähe, der nicht zur Öffentlichkeit geöffnet ist, aber es ist ungewöhnlich genug, zwei Leuchttürme in so zu sehen, Nähe zu schließen. Drei aus den 4 von uns heraus bildeten den Aufstieg zur Oberseite. Ich wurde erklärt, daß die Landschaft recht eindrucksvoll war. Jetzt wissen Sie, wem nicht den Leuchtturm kletterte! Sie müssen in der guten Form sein physikalisch so zu tun. Sehr steiler und schmaler Aufstieg. Er kostet $2.00, um den Leuchtturm zu kommen (für Erwachsene). Jeder Leuchtturm hat sein einzigartiges Design oder Färbung, und dieses war zweifellos eins von den einzigartigeren, daß ich gesehen hatte. Nach seinem Außer Dienst stellen, dieses ist ein Grund, warum es gespeichert wurde. Der neue Kap-Henryleuchtturm wurde 1881 errichtet und ist noch innen Gebrauch. - Le vieux phare d'Henry de cap, qui se tient toujours, est sur une installation militaire (histoire de pi - le garde côtier). Il est accessible au public pour entrer et s'élever pendant certaines périodes de l'année (ressort, été, et chute). Il est possible que depuis les événements septembre passé de 11, les choses pourraient avoir changé en ce qui concerne obtenir sur la base. Le nouveau phare d'Henry de cap a été construit en 1881 et est toujours en service. - The Old Cape Henry lighthouse, which still stands, is on a military installation (Ft. Story - Coast Guard). It is accessible to the public to enter and climb during certain times of the year (spring, summer, and fall). It is possible that since the events of last September 11, things might have changed with regard to getting on the base. It is a short drive from downtown to the installation to find out for you. There is also another lighthouse nearby which is not open to the public, but it is unusual enough to see two lighthouses in such close proximity. Three out of the 4 of us made the climb to the top. I was told the scenery was pretty impressive. Now you know who did not climb the lighthouse! You must be in good shape, physically, to do so. Very steep and narrow climb. It costs $2.00 to enter the lighthouse (for adults). What is most unusual about this lighthouse is its shape - octagonal. Every lighthouse has its unique design or coloration, and this was certainly one of the more unique that I had seen. This is one reason why it was saved after its decommissioning. The new Cape Henry lighthouse was built in 1881 and is still in use.
