The ship "Oranjefontein" belongs to the Dutch "Holland Afrika Lijn" and operated around the whole African Coast. Author has never seen the "Oanjefontein" cachet before and is UNrecorded by Philip Cockrill in his work Maritime Markings & Ship Cancellations of the Netherlands & Colonies.
Very attractively franked with 18 cent in Dutch stamps and marked 6 SEPT 1947. Transit postmark of DURBAN 9 IX 47 and addressed to Cape Town.
