La alondra Ricotí (Chersophilus duponti) pertenece al grupo de los aláudidos (Alaudidae) y al orden de los paseriformes de vida terrestre. Viven en zonas esteparias de vegetación escasa, por lo que se localizan en páramos del Sistema Ibérico, La Mancha y zonas secas de Andalucía. Son aves de pequeño tamaño que se alimentan de insectos y hierbas. La población de alondra se encuentra en declive debido a la pérdida de hábitat por roturación de las estepas de vegetación natural. Es una especie en peligro de extinción, pues en España, país de Europa donde únicamente se localiza, se estima que queden menos de 2.000 parejas. Las características de su plumaje críptico con el medio hacen que sea una especie difícilmente observable. Más que volar largas distancias, corre entre los arbustos y, como la mayoría de los pájaros que viven en tierra, tiene garras grandes y largas que le aportan estabilidad. La alondra pone entre dos y seis huevos en tierra.

La margarita común (Bellis perennis) es una planta herbácea de la clase magnoliopsida y de la familia asteraceae. Es una hierba de pequeña altura y la flor es acampanada. Tiene un rizoma rastrero y hojas dentadas y espatulazas de dos a cinco cm. de largo. En un tallo floral, sin hojas, se producen inflorescencias discoidales de dos a tres cm. de diámetro y pétalos blancos o amarillos. La flor se cierra durante la noche y se abre nuevamente durante el día. Es comestible y la infusión de hojas y flores se considera depurativa y diurética. La margarita florece en invierno o a principios de la primavera.

The Dupont lark (Chersophilus duponti) belongs to the family of the Alaudidae and to the terrestrial order of the passeriformes. It lives in open sandy semi-desert or steppe with scarce vegetation and can be found in the Spanish Iberian mountain range, La Mancha and dry areas of Andalucía. They are small birds that feed on insects and seeds. The population of this bird has seriously declined due to overgrazing and agricultural developments which have caused a reduction in its preferred habitats and a considerable decrease in numbers. It is a species on the verge of extinction and in Spain there are less than 2,000 pairs. It is fairly undistinguishable and has a thin pale crown stripe and a dark-streaked breast. Rather than flying long distances, it runs amongst the bushes and as most birds that live on the ground it has long big claws that give it stability. The lark nests two to six eggs on the ground.

The daisy (Bellis perennis) is a herbaceous plant of the magnoliopsida class belonging to the family of the asteraceae. It has short creeping rhizomes and small rounded or spoon shaped leaves measuring 2 to 5 cm long. The flower heads are 2 to 3 cm in diameter with white ray florets and yellow disc florets. The flower closes up at night and opens up again with daylight. It is edible and the infusion of its leaves and flowers is purifying and diuretic. The daisy blossoms in winter and early spring.
