here are 4 interesting u.s. covers that tell an interesting tale. we have a first commercial use helicopter flight by a sikorsky S-55 to deliver mail in the new jersey area and this flight started at the airmail field in newark, nj. the helicopter then travelled down the coastline to perth amboy, onto red bank, then long branch, and finally asbury park. how did i deduce this; easy, there are receiving postmarks each a half hour apart on the backs of each cover. that would be the flying time for this korean/vietnam war era chopper as these towns are fairly close to each other. i did not have room for an image of the back of the 4th cover with the final destination but trust the cajun, it is backstamped red bank, nj. a terrific set of covers waiting for your collection. happy bidding.
